Shortly after buying my Trimph Sprint ST, as in one week after I bought it, I went for a ride to Arizona to visit my friend Charlie and have a look around the state.  It was definitely an adventure.  This map details the route I took from Scottsdale, AZ (where Charlie lives) up to the Grand Canyon and on towards the events that would take place in the desert.

The trip was definately educational in terms of how to prepare for a sport touring ride.  Everything from route planning to packing lists that are now staples of trip preparation all saw their development start based on how this trip went.
