2010 Challenge Announced

The 2010 Challenge is the list of 10 tasks that I've set out for myself to accomplish this year. The overview is published and progress reports and summaries will be published under the 2010 Challenges menu in the Challenges section of this website. The list this year is significantly harder than last years and I'll be exploring my limits, but as it says in Mountaineering: Freedom of the Hills,"Use creativity and boldness to overcome the difficulty."

Gallery Switchover Complete

Well, after a lot of SQL editing, file copying, CSS manipulation and SEF frustration, the new Photo Albums are live and running. Now I can go ahead and upload some of the galleries that have been sitting offline waiting for this change to be completed. For more information on why I changed, I've written an article on my decision to migrate from Gallery2 to JoomGallery.

Some have been wondering where the pictures from my trip to Egypt are. Well, after many months of flipping back and forth on the topic of photo gallery software, I decided that the difficulty of transitioning from one piece of gallery management software to another was far outweighed by the benefit of having something that has better SEF capabilities. If that last sentence made no sense to you, don't worry. Essentially, I'm changing my gallery software so that Google can search it. That does mean that I have to reimport all my photos, recategorize them, title them, add descriptions, etc. etc. and so forth. This may take a while, but I'll be happier in the long run.
