My First Compass Navigation Success

Picture information

Description:
On the topographical map I had prepared during my downtime waiting for nitrogen dissolved in my tissues to dissipate, I marked out several navigational points where I could check my distance traveled.  According to my map, I would have travelled one mile when the largest hill on the ridgeline to the left of the path was on a bearing of 69.7°.  I didn't expect any mile markers on the trail, so when I ran across "Mile 1" I stopped, and shot a bearing and it came back 70°.  I must have grinned for 20 minutes after that and just had to take a picture to commemorate.  This was right after the navigation dives the previous day when my team had successfully negotiated a natural navigation, reciprocal course and a square pattern at 25 feet.  I was awfully proud.
