Welcome !

This site exists to advocate finding the middle of nowhere; the place where you can park on the double yellow line, eat a sandwich and contemplate where the hell you are on the map.  We encourage you to go out and put yourself into situations that become the stuff of legendary stories.  Have a look around and enjoy.

Panoramic Photo Section Added

Ubehebe_Crater.thumb.jpg I've added a section dedicated to Panoramic Photography.  So far, I have three ready to go including Ubehebe Crater and Lake Elsinore.  I have a lot more staged on the server already so look for more images to come in the near future.

Thanksgiving 2005 Tour of National Parks Journal Online... PDF Print E-mail

Good News Everyone... over in the Moto Journals section, I've completed a five page journal of my 2005 Thanksgiving Week ride through six national parks.  It was my first ride over 1,000 miles in length and was quite an adventurous and physically trying experience.  I've also uploaded a photo album of that sport touring ride for you to have a look through.  For some reason the photos aren't quite up to the digital quality I like, I think there was an export problem, so I'll try to fix those over the coming weeks.  The parks I road through were Zion National Park , Bryce Canyon National Park , Cedar Breaks National Monument , Yosemite National Park , Kings Canyon National Park and Sequoia National Park and Monument. I also spent a day crossing the state of Nevada with interesting results.  If you look at the animated area on the front page, as of today, a lot of those pictures are from this tour, so you can imagine it was one helluva ride.

Der Wasserturm June - Image
One of the most ready memories I have of Germany is Der Wasserturm in Mannheim .  When I was four, I remember walking around the edges of the fountain and marveling at them. We had nothing like that back home in Napa.
