Hayden Valley in Yellowstone National Park PDF Print E-mail

After a massive day of hiking and riding all around Yellowstone, I made a deal with myself that I would grab dinner and hunker down in a turnout above Hayden Valley and spend an hour or two watching the sunset.  Words fail me to describe what it was like there.  This photo doesn't even do it justice.  Down in the valley were about a half dozen Bison, there were probably 30 to 50 Elk across the valley laying in a glade just in front of the tree line, and a coyote ran among the sage in front of me as I sat there.

This is actually part 2 of a pair of photo's I took.  This self portrait is of me as I sat there watching the sunset, and the bottom panorama is what I was looking at.  I really, really wanted to preserve as much of that pristine moment as I could.

I waited until the sun was just behind the Triumph before hopping off my perch and taking a quick series of five photos, again all with my Canon A520.  The final full file is about 50MB with final printed size of 46" x 10".
